Dolphin watching on the Moray Firth


The Moray Firth is home to the most northerly colony of Bottlenose Dolphins in the world, one of only two resident populations in the UK.

There are currently believed to be around 130 individuals within the colony.
They are also the largest in the world growing up to 4m in length and can live for over 40 years.
Dolphins are very inquisitive and boisterous creatures and love to frolic, hunt and play, often approaching passing boats to have a closer look.
The Steading holiday cottage is well situated to take advantage of the many dolphin watching trips on the Moray Firth:
